The national major plan in research and development of scientific instrument and equipment, "Tunable InfraRed Laser for Fundamentals of Energy Chemistry", organized by the iChEM Professor Shi-Gang Sun to develop the state-of-the-art instrument with participation of the four members of the iChEM, XMU, FDU, USTC, and DICP, was initiated in the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory of USTC. In order to solve the key scientific issues on optimal utilization of carbon resources (fossil) and development of new clean energy, it is necessary and important to develop tunable infrared laser for fundamentals of energy chemistry and optical detection, excitation and dissociation in association with the latest findings in the field of free electron laser technology. Through this project, the first largest infrared equipment oriented to energy chemistry will be established to reveal the law of chemical reactions for energy chemistry in the aspects of molecules, clusters, surface and interface. Our goal is to have the performance of this equipment reach international advanced level. The project is supported by the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) with the funding support of about¥8.5 million Yuan for the period of 2014-2018. The USTC will be responsible for the design and construction of the infrared portion of the light source and the FDU will undertake the task of development and construction of light detection experimental station.

In the need of the project, some positions are available as the follows below:
