EDUCATION AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Haiping Xia obtained his B.S. in Chemistry in 1983, M.S. in Polymer Science in 1986, and Ph.D. in 2002 from Department of Chemistry, Xiamen University. He was a visiting scholar in Hongkong University of Science and Technology from 1995 to 1997. He started to work at Xiamen University in 1986 and was promoted to Professor in 1999.

HONORS AND AWARDS Professor Haiping Xia is currently a “MinJiang Distinguished Professor”. His achievements in the field of Materials Chemistry and Organometallic Chemistry earned him many awards, such as the “Young Chemist Award of Chinese Chemical Society at the 60th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Chemical Society”, the 7th Fujian “Youth Science and Technology Award”. He was awarded the prestigious “New Century Excellent Talents in University” Program by the Ministry of Education in 2004, and received the National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar of China in 2009. He has developed a revolutionary novel aromatic system (Carbolong Complexes), which was published in Nature Chemistry and Nature Communications and elected as one of the “ten major scientific and technological progress of China's colleges and Universities” in 2013.
ACADEMIC SERVICES Professor Haiping Xia is a Professor in college of chemistry and chemical engineering at Xiamen University, vice chairman of Fujian Provincial Chemical Society, member of the State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry, member of the Key Laboratory of Organofluorine Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Physical Organic Chemistry of the Chinese Chemical Society.
