EDUCATION AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Prof. Hua Cui received her Ph.D. from University of Science and Technology of China in 1990. She was appointed as a lecturer in 1990, as an associate professor in 1995 and as a professor & head in 2000 in Analytical Division, Department of Chemistry, University of Science & Technology of China. During the time, she also conducted some research work as a postdoctoral at Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Faculty of Pharmacy, Utrecht University and as a visiting scholars at Department of Biology, Jackson State University.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Prof. Hua Cui’s research interests are chemiluminescence (CL) and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) and their applications to immunoassays and nucleic acid analysis in the fields such as public health, food safety, environmental monitoring and so on. Current work focuses on the investigation of nano-catalyzed CL/ECL using multi-functional imaging system, the development of novel luminescence functionalized nanomaterials as nanoprobes and nanointerfaces, signal amplification strategies and methodologies for ultrasensitive CL and ECL bioassays and their applications to early diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases (such as tuberculosis, acute myocardial infarction, and cancer etc.), and assessment of food safety.
