On March 3rd of 2013, a workshop was organized by iChEM and held at the conference center of University of Geosciences of China in Beijing on application of the national major plan in research and development of scientific instrument and equipment. Prof. Shigang Sun, as a major leader of the project and a representative of the iChEM, presented a talk about what the iChEM have done for application of such key national project as scientific instrument and equipment research. Leaders and experts in the conference fully affirmed the iChEM’s efforts to lead a team for development of the Adjustable Infrared Free Electron Laser instrument (IRFEL) and made pertinent comments and suggestions on developing such a state-of-art instrument.
