On November 27 of 2013, the kick-off meeting of the project of "Development of Energy Chemistry Discipline in China" that carried out by the joint leading group of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), launched at XMU. The meeting was presided by one of the project leaders, Prof. Zhong-Qun Tian, and attended by project team members, invited guests as Prof. Zhong Lin Wang of the foreign member of CAS, Deputy Director Yonghe Zheng of the Policy Bureau of NSFC, and Director Shanchao Wu of the Development Strategy Bureau, and faculties and students of DICP as well as XMU, in total of more than 30 people.
The meeting discussed on the topics of global and national energy structure, orientation and formation of the disciplinary system of energy chemistry, key issues of disciplinary development in science and technological breakthroughs, interdisciplinary training program in energy chemistry, as well as establishment of platform for information resources sharing.
The meeting finally confirmed that the specific implementation of this project should include the following subjects: 1) the development and strategic planning of energy chemistry; 2) platform construction and talent training of energy chemistry; 3) policy analysis and technology transfer of energy chemistry. Meantime, it also clarified the participated group members and their research directions as well as the tasks of next stage.
