Topic: Towards a molecular view of atmospheric corrosion
Lecturer: Prof. Christofer Leygraf
Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Location: Room 202, Lujiaxia Building
Metal corrosion caused economic losses of up to 1.8 trillion Yuan each year in China, far more than the sum of the annual economic losses caused by natural disasters. In addition, corrosion also involves resources, environment, energy, defense, security and the sustainable development of the national economy and other issues. People have fought more than 100 years to ascertain the mechanism of corrosion and develop corrosion-control technology. The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering and Professor at Royal Institute of Technology, Prof. Christofer Leygraf is one of the most famous scientists in corrosion research worldwide. He is good at using variety of modern advanced surface-sensitive spectroscopy techniques to investigate the surface of the material and the corrosion mechanism, and made outstanding contributions in corrosion studies at the molecular level. He has a high reputation in the surface science, corrosion science and electrochemistry and won almost all international awards in the relevant areas. Professor Leygraf will show us his research experience and the style of a world-famous scientist at 627th Nanqiang lecture.
