A General Chelate-Assisted Co-Assembly to Metallic Nanoparticles-Incorporated

Recently, Professor Zhao group in Fudan University have reported a novel chelate-assisted multi-component co-assembly method for the synthesis of ordered mesoporous carbon with uniform metal-oxide-containing nanoparticles (Fe, Co, Ni and so on) trapped in the carbon walls but partially exposed to the pore channels. The size of nanoparticles can be readily tunable from 8.3 to 22.1 nm. It shows excellent catalytic performance for Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis. As the size of iron-oxide nanoparticles decreases, the catalysts exhibit significantly improved catalytic performances with C5+ selectivity up to 68 % and excellent catalytic stability. It shows a great promise for large-scale application in FT synthesis.
