Review paper on Upconversion Luminescent Materials published on Chemical Reviews
The review paper “Upconversion Luminescent Materials: Advances and Applications” written by Fu-You Li’s group from FDU got published in ACS journal Chemical Reviews(Chem. Rev., 2015, 115(1), 395-465)
Upconversion Luminescence nanomaterials has attracted wide research interests due to the distinct anti-Stokes process, long-wavelength excitation and short-wavelength emission. Due to the special CW-excited upconversion process, upconversion emissive materials exhibit unique large anti-Stokes shifts. Upconversion luminescence imaging with UCNPs as labels could be expected to completely eliminate autofluorescence from biotissues in bioimaging. The present review hopes to provide extensive coverage of both lanthanide UCNPs and TTA-based materials, with a systematic summary and comparison of their synthesis, luminescence tuning and optimization, as well as their surface engineering and applications. In particular, emphasis is placed on the differences between the material components, spectral properties, together with examples and prospects of their future applications.
Prof. Fu-You Li’s group focus on using NIR luminescence materials for bioimaging. They made a series of progress in material synthesis, designing imaging machines and biomedical application. The related results were published on Nat. Protocol, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Funct. Mater., Biomaterials, and got wide attention and recognition all over the world.
