In 2013, the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced a list of new members, including 53 new Chinese members who nine members are from the Division of Chemistry and nine foreign members. The Presidents of iChEM Council, Prof. Li Jin and Prof. Tao Zhang, and the iChEM Prof. Yi Xie (female), were successfully elected as the new members of the CAS. Prof. Christian Amatore of the French Academy of Sciences and the iChEM Academic Committee were also elected as one of the foreign members of CAS.

As the nation’s highest academic institution in natural sciences and its supreme scientific and technological advisory body, and national comprehensive research and development center in natural sciences and high technologies, it is a great honor to be recognized as the CAS members and a high representative of excellent research achievement for the researchers in China. Therefore, the four iChEM members have gained their own honor by their hard working and have further promoted the scientific strength and reputation of the center.
