In the evening of November 1, Prof. Shaofeng Luo of USTC gave a lecture of application method of reference management software so-called “Endnote X7” in USTC that was simultaneously shared by the Ph.D student, iChEM Fellow and Research Associate of the center in XMU and FDU via the multi-video conference system. The participants believe that the video lecture platform is an efficient way to obtain advanced scientific information and facilitate resource sharing and communication among the four core members so as to support scientific research and improve efficiency and innovation of the four core members of the iChEM.

Reference Management Software is an indispensable tool for scientists. The latest EndnoteX7 is endowed with many thoughtful functions, for example, it can help us to rapidly collect a larger number of references, directly import a great number of PDF references for management, automatically download the whole article and edit the form of references. Prof. Shaofeng Luo is a nationwide well-known reference management expert, who has ten year’s scientific software training experiences and can make the lecture simple but profound with a sense of humor. The course is the only one course in this semester to openly introduce Endnote X7. The course is designed on the basis of the demands of scientists and the contents of early stage include the application methods of search engine and bibliographic data base, fast and efficient tracking of latest development and huge amount of information, personal knowledge management scheme, and laboratory team collaboration, etc. The students give it five-star evaluation.
