Recently, the French Chemical Society honored Prof. Shi-Gang Sun (iChEM researcher) with "France-China Chemistry Lecture Award (2014-2015)," for his contribution in electrochemistry, which promoted the scientific and technological exchanges between China and France. Prof. Shi-Gang is the first Chinese researcher to win this award for his contribution in basic understanding and applications in electrochemistry.

"France-China Chemistry Lecture Award" was jointly established by Chinese Chemical Society and French Chemical Society in 2013. Since 2014, the annual award has been given to an eminent chemist from China or France alternately. The award is aimed at promoting the scientific cooperation between China and France in chemistry. By rewarding outstanding scientists of the two countries, they will be invited to give guest lectures whereby promoting cooperation between China and France.
