On 30-31 May 2015, the Fourth East China Universities seminar on catalysis was successfully held in Xiamen University. Considering the former five East China Universities (Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Xiamen University, East China Normal University), and also the seminar function having greatly attracted experts, induced the University of Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Nanjing Tech University and Fuzhou University to join in the group. The platform has developed into the highest lever seminar in East China. Prof. Wang Ye from iChEM was the convener for this seminar. A number of distinguished experts in related fields attended this conference, such as researcher Shen Wenjie (DICP), Professor He Heyong (Head of the Department of Chemistry, Fudan University), Prof. Liu Zhipan (Fudan University), Prof. Wan Hui-lin (Member of CAS, Xiamen University) Prof. Jiang Yunbao (Head of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen university), Lin Hui (Xiamen University), Prof. Xie Zhao-xiong (Director of the State Key Laboratory, Xiamen University).

More than 60 academically famous catalytic leaders and outstanding young scholars from nine universities attended the meeting. The scholars mostly discussed about catalytic material, catalytic reaction, and mechanism. There are lots of high quality research reports and a wide range of academic exchanges in this conference. There was another interesting topic about how to carry out the collaborative innovation between young scholars and students and hence the conference has made constructive results.
