On May 23rd, the eighth “Zhou Guang-Zhao Science and Technology Foundation Awards” ceremony was held in GuangZhou, Prof. Bao Xin-He (DICP, iChEM member) won the “basic scientific award” because of the achievements of basic research in catalysis.

Prof. Bao Xin-He aims at creating novel catalytic materials for high efficient energy conversion of clean energy. He conducted a series of research work from basic research to application. "Confinement catalytic" innovative concept proposed by him, has initially formed the theoretical system after ten years of development, it has an important influence on the international academic community.

Zhou Guang-Zhao Foundation is donated by Mr. Zhong Jianguo and his families, It was set up on June 15th, 2006, in Hong Kong. Zhou Guang-Zhao is the permanent honorary chairman of the foundation board advisory. The award is being held annually, mainly to reward outstanding contributions to Chinese scientific and technical personnel.
