On January 14, 2016, the 2015 Outstanding Technology Achievement Award was enclosed in Beijing. The iChEM researcher, Prof. Xinhe Bao of DICP won this Award.
Prof. Xinhe Bao’s research focuses mainly on the fundamental understanding of catalysis, and its application to the development of new catalysts and catalytic processes related to energy conversion, in particular clean coal and natural gas utilization. His achievements in catalysis of nanoporous materials, nano-structured carbon materials and nano-sized oxide particles, as well as in the fundamental researches of understanding the nano-confined catalysis have been well recognized in the community worldwide.
The Outstanding Technology Achievement Award was established in 2002 and first bestowed in 2003. This award was evaluated by the assessment group in CAS and approved by the president meeting of CAS. It has been eight years for this award to be bestowed to personnel or group with significant research achievement in the recent five years. Not more than ten personnel or groups may win this award each year. In this year, two personnel and seven groups won this award.
