On October 21, 2016, the 2016 award ceremony of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. The Chief Scientist of iChEM Platform “Technology Transfer”, Prof. Tao Zhang, Director of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was awarded with the Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation (HLHL) because he, with a focus on the national needs, has made important achievements in chemistry, such as catalysis for aerospace, catalytic conversion of biomass, single-atom catalysis, etc.

Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation was established on March 30, 1994 in Hong Kong with funds donated by the S H Ho Foundation Limited, Dr Kau-Kui Leung, Dr Ho Tim and Dr. Lee Quo-Wei’s Wei Lun Foundation Limited, with the purposes of promoting the development of science and technology in China and rewarding the scientific and technical personnel with outstanding achievements and great innovations.
