The Satellite Symposium of 20th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (CMNS) held successfully

The Satellite Symposium of 20th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (SSICCF20) was held successfully on Sept. 28 ~30, 2016 in Xiamen University (XMU), which was hosted by Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Energy Materials (iChEM) and State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces (PCOSS), sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, HuaiAn Kerun Membrane Materials Co., Ltd., and XMU National University Sci-Tech Zone Development and Construction Co., Ltd. Professor Zhong-Qun Tian from XMU and Professor Xing-Zhong Li from Tsinghua University are co-chairs of this symposium.

This symposium has attracted totally around 70 participants, including 15 well-known foreign experts from five different countries and many other scholars famous in CMNS research, such as Prof. Peter L. Hagelstein from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Mr. Jean-François Geneste from Airbus Group, Prof. David J. Nagel from The George Washington University, Prof. Yasuhiro Iwamura from Tohoku University. The symposium provided an important platform for the experts, young scholars, and graduates to exchange freely and widely, by means of invited lectures, keynotes, poster presentations and discussion session, aiming to promote development of CMNS research and enhance international academic exchange.

Prof. Zhong-Qun Tian, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, firstly expressed warm welcome to all the experts and scholars for their participation in SSICCF20 on behalf of organizing committee. By two keynotes and 21 invited lectures, the experts have introduced respectively the development history, present situation, and research direction of CMNS, and how CMNS was improved by hydrogen storage materials, Ni-H heat experiment, hot fusion shielding effect, the abnormal phenomenon of overheating of aluminum oxide was bombarded by hydrogen or deuterium particles, gas discharge method overheating, etc, and also tried to make reasonable explanation and verification for CMNS mechanism according to condensed physical theory, electrolysis experiment, experiment products in factory, phonon coupling, non-symmetry, Eyring rate theory and phonon-nuclear coupling experiment. Prof. Tian put forward some new ideas for CMNS theory from materials preparation, triggering condition, method testing, etc, and made predicative analysis for CMNS development. All participants involved themselves to discuss lively during free discussion session.

Finally, Prof. Zhong-Qun Tian on behalf of organizing committee wishes the 20th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science in Sendai a complete success.
